About Local Foundation Pros
Local Foundation Pros helps homeowners in 16 states and Washington, DC get connected with independent local foundation repair contractors by phone, and publishes guides that explain foundation problems, repair methods and costs.
What we do and what we don’t
- We are a referral service, not a contractor. We do not inspect, design or repair foundations, and we do not employ contractors.
- How a call works: your call is answered by our partner call center, which asks what you need and connects you with an independent contractor who serves your ZIP code.
- Free for homeowners. You pay nothing for the referral. Contractors may pay a fee for referrals; this does not change the information in our guides.
- No obligation. You decide whether to hire anyone. Always check the contractor’s license, insurance and written contract yourself; see how to choose a foundation repair contractor.
Editorial standards
Foundation repair is expensive and hard to undo, so our content follows a few firm rules:
- Sources for every factual claim. Soil and geology facts come from government agencies and universities, such as the USGS, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, state geological surveys and university extension services. Each region page and guide lists its sources at the end.
- Published cost figures only. Prices come from published cost guides, such as This Old House, Angi, HomeAdvisor, Bob Vila and Fixr, and are labeled with the source and area. We do not invent local averages, and we say so when we use a nearby city or a national figure.
- Official rules from the source. Permit and licensing rules are taken from city, county and state websites. Rules change; your contractor and your local building department have the final word.
- No fake reviews or testimonials. We do not publish reviews, ratings or customer stories we cannot verify.
- Only areas we actually serve. City and region pages name only communities where our referral network takes calls.
- Dates and updates. Guides show when they were published and last updated. We review cost figures and rules regularly and correct errors as soon as we find them.
Not professional advice
Our guides are general information to help you understand your situation and ask better questions. They are not engineering, legal or insurance advice. For a diagnosis, talk to a licensed contractor or a licensed professional engineer; for legal or insurance questions, talk to a licensed professional in your state.
Where we help
We connect homeowners in more than 4,000 ZIP codes, from Texas and Florida to the Mid-Atlantic, New England and the Pacific Northwest. See all service areas, the foundation repair cost guide and our foundation repair guides.
